Vendor & Supply Chain Analysis

Average vendor risk in the market is low because the market’s other upstream suppliers, including computer and software wholesalers and office supply manufacturers, are at low risk of disruption.

Market share concentration is low in the market, which gives comparable power with virtually any vendor in the market and stimulates strong competition as suppliers vie to build their market share. Geographic barriers are low as well; virtually all suppliers can be considered feasible options on this basis.

The supply chain risk for providers of outsourced sales services is moderate on average because of minor manufacturing instability among telecom networking equipment and paper product manufacturers, and how suppliers primarily rely on labor as the chief input to production, so the majority of vendor inputs are overhead costs. The primary source of upstream supply chain risk comes from buyers’ telecommunication needs.

As a net importer of computers in the outsourced sales services market, US buyers' procurement strategies may be influenced by factors such as cost considerations and international competition and will need to carefully evaluate pricing options and potentially seek out more cost-effective solutions. Being a net importer can restrict buyer power and reduce their ability to dictate terms and conditions in procurement transactions, and will have less control over pricing, quality, and availability of the goods or services they need.
